Our furry companions often ensure that we slow down and take the time to appreciate what’s around us as they pause to explore under a fallen log, playfully splash in a secluded stream or sniff the proverbial flower. We all know that when our furry hiking companions get a sense of a car trip, their excitement is off the charts.  To ensure our trail buddies enjoy trekking adventures as much as we do, it’s important to plan ahead and pack the right gear.  With proper planning before you hit the trail,  you can ensure that your four-legged trail buddy is comfortable, hydrated, nourished and as injury-free as possible. Before You Go Before you head out to hit the trail, here are a few key things to get off on the right foot: Know your route and rules – when selecting a trail, know the specific rules about dogs on the trail as each trail often has its own set of rules.
